About the role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers, guiding them in developing scalable and high-performing solutions. Your role will involve a mix of technical leadership, people management, and system architecture design to ensure the success of our product-focused engineering teams. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Designers, and other Engineering Managers to drive the technical roadmap, improve development processes, and foster a high-performance engineering culture.
Our backend stack is primarily built on .NET 8, C#, and PostgreSQL, complemented by React on the frontend and Python for Machine Learning. We value a strong engineering foundation, best practices, and a passion for mentoring developers to grow in their careers
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
- Lead with vision and technical expertise, guiding a high-performing team and fostering a culture of innovation, passion for good work, and continuous learning.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Frontend, influencing decisions that shape the future of our platform and infrastructure.
- Define and drive the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment between technical decisions and business objectives.
- Push the boundaries of software quality and delivery, championing best practices, rigorous code reviews, and modern architectural patterns
- Mentor and grow top engineering talent, providing actionable feedback, career guidance, and opportunities for professional development.
- Foster a culture of innovation and technical curiosity, encouraging the team to experiment, challenge assumptions, take responsibility and challenge the status quo.
- Drive long-term organizational growth, scaling teams, refining processes, and aligning engineering practices with the company’s evolving goals to ensure sustained impact and innovation at scale.
Requirements to succeed in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience. Bonus points for .NET Core, C#, ReactJS and SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring and career development.
- Motivation and ownership. Clear understanding of the purpose behind tasks and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps culture.
- Ability to balance hands-on coding and high-level architectural guidance. Strong communication skills: ability to explain ideas clearly and listen actively.
